AIM

This procedure aims:

  • To ensure safe working practices for staff who are involved in visiting, lone working and interviewing clients in their own home or on council premises;
  • To ensure managers and staff have a clear understanding of what to do in an emergency;
  • To raise awareness of the potential risks and ensure effective risk assessments are put in place;
  • To set out the responsibilities for managers and staff to minimise the risks when visiting and lone working;
  • To reduce the likelihood of staff being injured if in a high risk situation.
